Apostrophes, among other uses, show possession/ownership. The memorial belongs to the vetran or the vetran's memorial. If one means that it is the memorial of many veterans; then it would be veterans'.
To show ownership add apostrophe and a s. If it looks weird...like dogs's erase or delete the final s. The six dogs'
The only time an apostrophe and an s make something plural is when you are writing about a letter.....This gradebook has too many F's.
And yet another....stolen from Facebook. No need for that apostrophe in Dad's : nice sentiment...but nothing owned.
And how about the inconsistent use of capitalization-that looks like a whole lesson right there. And commas....
