I have been lazy and haven't kept up my blog...but it seems that folks on Facebook and other blogs have difficulty with how to say something belongs to them and someone else. I saw it again this morning and thought maybe I needed to blog about it just so I can rant. A little. well, Maybe a bunch of ranting. SO here goes. I read a very touching blog the other day, but there was this thing....I's.....there is not such word. John Doe's and I's life. UGH..NONONO....MY is the possessive for I. you would never say, "I's life changed," would you? SO don't write it when you connect it to someone else's life. John Doe's and my lives changed. OK? Why is that hard? Gene and my lives are so much better when I don't read bad grammar! So help my husband out so he doesn't have to hear me rant, would you? Thank you in advance. Now, go about your day and do something AMAZING. Love each other and be kind.

Apostrophe Use
So sad, only one Veteran from Lahoma!
Apostrophes, among other uses, show possession/ownership. The memorial belongs to the vetran or the vetran's memorial. If one means that it is the memorial of many veterans; then it would be veterans'.
To show ownership add apostrophe and a s. If it looks weird...like dogs's erase or delete the final s. The six dogs'
The only time an apostrophe and an s make something plural is when you are writing about a letter.....This gradebook has too many F's.
And yet another....stolen from Facebook. No need for that apostrophe in Dad's : nice sentiment...but nothing owned.

My first pet peeve came while reading the postings of things people had to sell on my local facebook page. UGH People seem to have the words SELL and SALE mixed up....I guess they do sound sort of alike when you speak OKIE...but here's the skinny on sell and sale. Sell is the verb...the action word. I have a blankety blank to sell. Sale is the noun. .... Nouns name things. That blankety blank that I want to sell is for sale. When you pay me money for it, I have made a sale. Hey, by the way, I have some things I need to sell! Please don't sell this short. There are still people out there who speak English! Now get out there and sell, sell, sell! Sold, to the highest bidder...
